Loves Park Fire Department was established in 1947 as a volunteer department, we proudly transitioned to a full-time professional fire department in 2018. As a part of this transition, our admin team strives each day to ensure we are delivering the highest levels of care, respect, and professionalism to all those we serve.

Fire Chief

James Hart B.S., NREMT-P

Chief Hart has been with the department since 2018 and was appointed Fire Chief in January of 2023.

Deputy Chief of Operations

Greg Kunce

Deputy Chief Kunce has been with the department since 2019 and has been the Deputy Chief since April of 2023.

Captain of Inspections and Prevention

Kara Schneider

Captain Schneider has been with the department since 2019 and has been the Captain of Inspections and Prevention since January 2023.
